Crafting is the backbone of survival on alien planets. Successfully building a colony requires a good deal of time spent gathering resources and then using them to craft various items, be they structures, utilities, or practical consumables.

- Crafting is largely automated for low level buildings. Required resources are automatically consumed from available stock to construct the selected items.
- Higher level items and structures will require a specialized station or tool to build.
- Notably, when constructing buildings their durability is determined by the amount of time spent building it: To achieve perfect condition, you have to hold the build button until the meter hits 100%.
