Resources (crafting materials) are the first step of building a successful colony, providing the raw materials that can be processed into useful items or higher tier materials. They are divided into minerals and gases (raw materials, both harvested directly from a resource node), as well as complex materials and complex liquids (manufactured out of raw materials using various crafting stations). Some complex materials and liquids can be found inside reinforced crates or can be salvaged from failed colonies and crashed satellites, spacecrafts or escape pods.
